Deep Down Under the Ocean!

Put on your goggles, flippers and wetsuits - it's time to look at life by the sea and dive deep down under the ocean!

In Geography, we will be using our map skills to identify features of coastlines, such as headlands and beaches. We will zoom in even closer and look at how our coastlines are eroded and what we could do to stop it. We will also be looking at the tourism of seaside towns and decide what makes us want to be beside the seaside.

In Science, we are going to be looking at forces and magnetism. We will be classifying objects based on their magnetic qualities, observe magnetic fields and question whether different magnets have different strengths. We will then apply our knowledge of magnets to create our own magnetic fishing games in DT.

Use your swimming skills that you will learn in PE to travel along with us. I wonder which ocean creatures we'll meet on the way?

This half term, we will be focusing on Christianity in RE.

Firstly, we are going to look at prayer. We will be asking and answering questions about Christian prayer, including: What is prayer? and Why do Christians pray?
Can you use your metacognition question words to think of some more Big Questions?

Once we have answered these questions and looked at some examples of famous prayers, we will write our own prayers for our prayer book.

We will then look at Jesus's life, focusing on how he changed the lives of others. We will read stories in the Bible and look at the people whose lives were changed for the better when they met Jesus. However, we will also consider whether Jesus can still change people's lives today. To do this, we will look at the lives of very important people who did amazing things because their lives were changed by Jesus's messages.
